Panasonic Announces World’s First Portable Blu-ray Player

Portable Blu-ray PlayerWe all know how cool it is to watch movies on Blu-ray disc. The picture clarity is almost flawless and there is no way you can dispute the advantages of Blu-ray discs. However, there definitely is one drawback, which is about the portability. Most Blu-ray discs can only be played on Home Theater Systems, which are anything but portable. This is where the DVD scores for DVD players are portable and can be carried almost anywhere.

At the CES 2009, Panasonic launched the first portable Blu-ray player ever and it can be used anywhere inside your house. The Panasonic DMP-B15 comes with an 8.9″ screen and a battery backup of 3 hours. It is also Bitstream compatible and comes with an HDMI slot and an SD Card slot as well. It really is a great product but the battery life is really bad.

However, considering the fact that this is the world’s first portable Blu-ray player which is portable, such drawbacks could be forgiven. The Panasonic DMP-B15 looks good and is packed with features. However it is not known when the product will be released or how much it will cost.
